On March 16th, I will be presenting at First Congregational Church in Hendersonville on the vernal equinox and how it reflects balance (via light/darkness) in the natural world.. I will read a short passage from my book, The Girl Who Kept Her Magic, and then invite participants to reflect on how balance (or lack thereof) is expressed in their own lives at this time. (The symbol for the Taoist concept of balance, the taijitu, is often called yin/yang; it represents “how seemingly opposite or contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent. . . interacting to form a dynamic system in which the whole is greater than the parts.”~Wikipedia~)

Madison County Library Fiber Art Shows
For the month of August, 2012, I will be showing my work at all three of the Madison County Libraries: Marshall, Mars Hill, Hot Springs. Something old (labyrinths) and something new (a variety of prayer flags). If you can’t make it to the show, you can always check out my smaller items, like the prayer flags, at my etsy shop: etsy.com/shop/innerlandscaping. And have a great month of August.
Article in The Quilt Life magazine, June edition
There is a wonderful article on me and my quilted labyrinths in the June issue of The Quilt Life magazine. It was written by Meg Cox, a wonderful quilter in her own right; check her out at: http://www.megcox.com/summer_2010_news.htm. And she included comments from a friend and walking labyrinth maker, Chuck Hunner: http://www.goldenspirit.com/labyrinthconstruction/labyrinth.html.

2012: Tending Relationships with Self and Others through the Transformation Game
I hope 2011 came to a good end, and that you are now welcoming the New Year and new growth. Bonnie and I are gearing up for a great new year by setting some intentions for ourselves! One is to ignite ‘couples’ to avail themselves of the opportunities the Transformation Game has to offer. Our focus is to encourage the idea of “tending” relationships with self & others. Relationships can be of all kinds: mother/father & daughter/son, self & partner, self & parents, self and boss, self and the past….. We are always in relationship!
Our Game schedule will offer players some new days of the week to play. And of course, we are still doing G.O.D.- Games on Demand!
Another intention we have set is to facilitate a minimum of 10 games this year. Weâre hoping you will help us get the word out.
Wishing you all a very good year,
Laurel
